Who and what are we?
We are a legally
ordained, non-profit institution, which organises and co-ordinates
activities to promote and increase debate in and among schools and
universities in Peru.
Why promote debating?
Debating allows students to increase their skills in a
number of different areas:
What can we do for you?
We promote and conduct different workshops and seminars
about debating and public speaking.
We provide a vehicle for including Peruvian students in competitions – both
national and international.
We provide training opportunities for people who are interested in judging
debate. Would you like to do this?
We provide an organisational and informational framework that individual
schools will be able to access, to assist in the development of their own
resources.
Eventually, we anticipate that we will be in a position to help fund the
participation of any debaters with excellent skills, but who may not be able
to afford travel costs.
What will your responsibilities be if
your school joins?
You will be required to send one representative to the
meetings (generally one meeting per month) and will be asked to possibly
host one meeting per year.
You will be asked (if you have someone with the relevant expertise) to
provide a workshop or seminar that will help our students.
How do you join?
It is very simple. You just register with a current
member that you wish to join for the 2005 year, and then become a fully paid
member by or after 28 March.
Joining fee $300.00 (one time fee)
Annual fee $120.00 (payable by 28 March each year)
We would like to extend to all of you a very warm
invitation to join the Peruvian Debating Association.
We look forward to having an association that is strengthened by the
interest, passion and abilities of us all.
