Who and what are we?
We are a
legally ordained, non-profit institution,
which
organises and co-ordinates
activities to promote and increase debate in and among schools
and universities in Peru.

Why promote debating?
Debating
allows students to increase their skills in a number of
different areas:

inter-personal interaction

Why do we need your help?
We
promote and conduct different workshops and seminars
about debating and public speaking –
this
takes resources.
We
provide a vehicle for including Peruvian students in
competitions – both national and international – and
travel and registration costs are high.
We
provide training opportunities for people who are
interested in judging debate – we need a core group of
suitable judges here in Peru, but their time costs us
money.
We
provide an organisational and informational framework
that individual schools
will be able to access, to assist in the development of
their own resources
–
this requires web and office space – which costs.
Eventually,
we hope that we will be in a position to help fund the
participation of any debaters with excellent skills, but
who may not be able to afford travel costs – but in
order to do that, we need to ensure that our other costs
are being met.

What options do you have if you
want to help us?
You
can either help with a cash sponsorship deal, or by
providing the resources we need.
–For
example, if you are able to source and provide the
uniforms, then that may be a better option for you than
to provide the stated cost…

OR, if you have a
computer that is not being used, you could donate that
to us…

Money for stationary etc - $2,000 per year.

Per diems for judges a.r.o. $30 per day.
$2,000 per year.

A computer with specific PDA functions.

Rented space for office and resources
$1,000 - $1,400 per annum inclusive of services.

Funds
to send a team of 10 to the WSDC and Pan-American
competitions.
We
anticipate costs of $20,000 in total for 2006, but some
expenses are set-up costs which will not repeat in the
following years.
Costs for 2007 and 2008 are anticipated at $15,000.

important thing is that you are willing and prepared to help us in
any way
you can.
